Debbie Allen – choreographer, director, producer, composer, actress, and dancer – began her career on Broadway with Sweet Charity and West Side Story, for which she received two Tony nominations. She also received acclaim for her film performances – a Golden Globe Award and two Emmy’s for Fame and two Emmy nominations for Polly and The Debbie Allen Special. Here television career includes acting, directing, and choreography for Fame, Touched by an Angel, A Different World, The Sinbad Show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Quantum Leap. For five years, Allen choreographed the Academy Awards, and she has received a coveted Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She is currently an artist in residence at the Kennedy Center and author of two books, Brothers of the Knight and Dancing in the Wings.
