Media Advisory: Arts Inspire Grants Now Open for Applications

by Texas Cultural Trust

What: The Texas Cultural Trust has announced the launch of the Arts Inspire Grants, part of the nonprofit’s Arts Access program, to support arts programming in Title I schools. This grant is designed to assist with the expense of in-person arts and culture experiences.

The Title I campus applicant can receive up to $1,000 for expenses that bring the arts alive for students, including arts field trip transportation or admission fees, artist honorarium fees, or honorariums for school visits.

Who: Applicants must be employed by a Texas public school and work for a Title I campus. Priority is given to teachers serving rural, low arts access areas.

When: Applications are open from September 3rd through 5:00 pm on October 15th. Finalists will be notified no later than December.

Where: Applicants can learn more about the criteria and apply online at https://txculturaltrust.org/what-we-do/arts-access/arts-access-grants/

Why: Every child deserves to be inspired by the wonder and creativity that arts experiences provide. Texas Cultural Trust’s 2023 State of the Arts Report finds that arts education and access bring a host of benefits to children, including enhanced emotional regulation, social skills, problem-solving, higher test scores, and increased likelihood of attending college. However, students in Title I and rural districts tend to have fewer arts courses and fewer arts teachers, limiting their ability to access the numerous benefits of a quality arts education.
