Texas Cultural Trust Opens Applications for 2026-2027 Arts Inspire Grants

Annual Program Supports Arts Education Opportunities for Title I Schools Across Texas

AUSTIN, TEXAS (Aug. 13, 2026) – Texas Cultural Trust (TXCT), a nonprofit organization that supports the arts in education, advocacy and economic impact in Texas, announced today that applications for its 2026-2027 Arts Inspire Grants will open on Aug. 15. Open to all Title I schools in Texas, the Arts Inspire Grants are an annual program designed to expand access to professional arts experiences for students.

Provided through TXCT’s Arts Access program, Arts Inspire Grants help educators remove financial barriers facing Title I campuses that often prevent students from engaging in high-quality arts experiences. Funding supports in-person arts programming, like field trips to experience professional visual arts, dance, music and theatre performances, and honorarium fees for artist visits to school campuses, ensuring more Texas students have the opportunity to discover the power of the arts. 

Arts Inspire Grants are just one component of TXCT’s broader Arts Access program, a collective of resources that expands access to arts education through programming, financial support and educator tools. In addition to grant funding, teachers can access TXCT’s Arts & Digital Literacy Curriculum, in partnership with The University of Texas at Austin College of Fine Arts; the Career Exploration in the Arts Curriculum; and advocacy resources that empower educators to champion arts education in their communities.

Making meaningful arts education available to every young Texan is central to our mission of cultivating the next generation of creative leaders.”

According to TXCT’s 2025 State of the Arts Report, the arts enhance overall physical, mental and emotional health; encourage healthy behaviors; reduce stress; and increase social interactions. Attending just one cultural event a month reduces the risk of developing depression by 48%. For students, those who are highly engaged in the arts are more likely to meet college readiness benchmarks. Since its inception, the Arts Inspire Grant program has worked with educators to ensure more students can benefit from the arts firsthand. 

Applications for 2026-2027 Arts Inspire Grants will close at 5 p.m. CT on Oct. 1, 2026. Applicants must be employed at a Texas public school and work for a Title I campus. Priority is given to teachers serving rural, low-arts-access communities. Grants are awarded up to $1,000 per applicant.
