Houston Endowment
Foundation Arts Patron, Houston
Houston Endowment Inc., a private charitable foundation established in 1937 by Mr. and Mrs. Jesse H. Jones, has assisted numerous Texas arts organizations through grants of nearly $50 million during the last six years alone.
Houston Endowment strives to enrich communities and enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Houston, and of Texas, by supporting a broad spectrum of charitable organizations and educational institutions. The communities served may be as small as an inner-city neighborhood or as large as the entire state of Texas. Geography is not the only way communities are defined; the Foundation also supports diverse groups of people who form communities around a common interest or cause. Over the years, Houston Endowment’s assets have grown to approximately $1.3 billion, enabling the foundation to donate more than $70 million annually to help fulfill its founders’ vision of a healthy, vibrant community.
