Ray Zhang

Ray Zhang (Music-Viola) is in the 11th grade at Brandeis High School in San Antonio. He studies with Emily Freudigman. Ray has played in ensembles such as the National Youth Orchestra 2 in 2021 and the Texas Music Educators Association’s All-State Symphony Orchestra in 2020, 2021, and 2022. He is the principal viola player for the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio and holds a leadership role in his school orchestra class. Ray will use his Young Masters Award to study at the Encore Chamber Music Institute Summer Academy and play in the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America.
