Shane Smith

Shane Smith is a reformed Technical Director, mercenary stagehand and sometimes Head Carpenter for the Austin Opera. After a lengthy professional teaching career which included stops at Texas State University, Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, Florida State University and Texas Lutheran University, Shane has crossed over to the commercial side of the industry. He is now working for Texas Scenic Company based out of San Antonio with jobs across the country. In his role as a Systems Integration Manager, Shane gets to work with new lighting equipment, meet interesting people, travel around Texas and be at home on weekends. Shane is a graduate of Texas State University and holds an MFA in Technical Design and Production from the Yale School of Drama.
