Walter Olden

Lighting

Walter L. Olden was born and raised in the Southside of Chicago. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Radio, Television and Film. He worked as a cameraman, production grip and electric, credits included the original “The Blues Brothers,” and local and national television commercial spots. He moved to Austin in the early 1980’s and immediately plugged himself into the Austin Arts Community. Relationships have always been his key to success. He started working at KLRU, and he’s been Austin City Limits’ Lighting Director for the last eighteen years. He started Olden Lighting out of his garage and grew it into a very successful business. He also provides Lighting Director services for local and national television stations. His tenure as a Lighting Director includes work with the Longhorn Network since its inception, Good Morning America, Texas Medal of the Arts, and numerous televised productions. He is excited and honored to be part of this production.
