How we gather information from users?
How we collect and store information depends on the page you are visiting, the activities in which you elect to participate and the services provided. For example, you may be asked to provide information when you register to request certain features, such as our monthly newsletters. You may also be required to provide information when you submit grant applications, apply for program memberships, submit a charitable donation, or request to contact one of our staff members. Because we do not host third-party advertisements, nor do we require a username or password, our company does not collect information automatically through the use of electronic tools, called cookies that may be transparent to website visitors.
If you make a purchase or donation through our website, we do not store your credit card or payment information.
We encourage all users of our site to register for our mailing list, so that you can receive the latest information on Texas Cultural Trust events, programs and educational opportunities. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking here or by following the “unsubscribe” instructions in the e-mail.
What we do with the information we collect?
Aggregated Information (information that does not personally identify you) may be used in many ways. For example, we may combine information about your usage patterns with similar information obtained from other users to help enhance our site and services (e.g., to learn which pages are visited most or what features are most attractive). Aggregated Information may occasionally be shared with our advertisers and business partners. Again, this information does not include any Personally Identifiable Information about you or allow anyone to identify you individually.
The Texas Cultural Trust does not track customers’ online activities, and as such we will not respond to Web browser “do not track” signals. If you would like additional information about online tracking and various opt-out mechanisms, please see http://donottrack.us/
Because we link to social media sites that may include third-party advertisements, other parties may collect your personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different web sites when you visit this Site.
Please note that not all tracking will stop even if you delete cookies.
Personally Identifiable Information collected by the Texas Cultural Trust and our affiliated websites may also be used for other purposes, including but not limited to site administration, troubleshooting processing of e-commerce transactions, administration of grants and program memberships, and other communications with you. Certain third parties who provide technical support for the operation of our site (such as our web hosting service) may access such information. We will use your information only as permitted by applicable law. In addition, from time to time as we continue to develop our business, we may sell, buy, merge or partner with other companies or businesses. In such transactions, user information may be among the transferred assets. We may also disclose your information in response to a court order, at other times when we believe we are reasonably required to do so by law, in connection with the collection of amounts you may owe to us, and/or to law enforcement authorities whenever we deem it appropriate or necessary. Please note we may not provide you with notice prior to disclosure in such cases.
We use no encryption (data scrambling) on certain portions of our site. When you are on any website that asks you for confidential information, you should check to see if the information being transmitted is encrypted in order to increase the security of your information. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as perfect security.
Children and Minors
We make no active effort to collect personal information from children under the age of 13, unless a young person’s age is submitted to us as part of the required registration process for the individual to participate in youth-specific events or programs. Our website is not marketed to and is not intended to be used by children under the age of 13.
