Scholarship Recipients

2021 Recipient Erika Escobedo

Congratulations to the 2021 recipient of the Texas Cultural Trust x Brandon Maxwell x University of Texas Textiles and Apparel Scholarship: Erika Escobedo of Houston, TX. Erika developed an interest in fashion at a young age watching her grandmother, mother and aunts sew. Her love for fashion grew over the years as she watched fashion shows, collection exposés, and read reviews. Erika is interested in the intersection of textiles and science. She looks forward to studying the relationship between the two as they relate to the supply chain’s effects on the environment. Erika will be attending the University of Texas’s College of Natural Sciences Division of Textiles and Apparels starting in the fall of 2021.
