Texas women have the capability of making a tremendous impact on the arts in our state for our youth and our heritage,” says Jennifer Ransom Rice, Executive Director of the Texas Cultural Trust. “Our mission is to awaken and nurture the artist in every Texas child and investing in arts education programs invests in the future of our state.” Every year, the state Arts generate $5.1 billion for our state’s economy and contribute nearly $320 million revenue annually. Additionally, students who complete more arts classes have up to 15% higher pass rates on standardized tests than students with fewer art classes. Investing in the arts has tangible educational and financial benefits for the state of Texas, which is why investing in the arts is incredibly worth your time and money.

This past year, Texas Women for the Arts members enjoyed a trip to Philadelphia where they took a backstage tour of the Pennsylvania Ballet’s costume studio and eat at fabulous restaurants, such as Dante and Luigi’s and Parc, as well as have private tours of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. These trips are a chance for members from across the state to bond with each other and relish in their love for the arts while raising funds for arts and arts education programs. There is also exclusive travel opportunities for Legacy Members.
Texas Women for the Arts plays a crucial role in the fostering and developing of grants across the state as well as programs of the Texas Cultural Trust. Grants include $26,000 to the Texas Young Masters Program and $26,000 to the Arts and Digital Literacy Programming, totaling more than $50,000. At their 11th Annual meeting in Amarillo earlier this year, $260,000 was awarded to 29 diverse arts programs across Texas which contributed to the sustainability and development of these programs.
