Aureus Morel

Cedar Hill’s Aureus Morel (Music/Composition) is an 11th grade student at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas. He began playing piano during 6th grade and grew rapidly from there. As he entered high school, he began performing at many school recitals and contests at the local and state level while taking a greater interest in composition. He has developed his composition career by accepting commissions to arrange and write original work for peers and teachers at his school. He plans to use the funds provided by the Young Masters grant to attend the High School Composition Intensive program at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
