Kris G. Andrews has spent the past 30 years dedicated to supporting fine arts in education. He derives his greatest satisfaction from seeing artists reach beyond their own expectations. Kris is the Executive Director for the Center for Educator Development in Fine Arts (CEDFA), where he coordinates professional development opportunities for K-12 teachers of art, dance, music, and theatre. Kris earned a BFA at The University of Texas at Austin. At Austin’s James Bowie High School, Kris oversaw tremendous growth in a vibrant theatre program. Kris was fortunate to direct several one-act plays that competed at the state level. In addition to his work with CEDFA, Kris has worked in the arts nationally and internationally. In 2017, Kris started supervising Student Teachers for The University of Texas at Austin Department of Theatre and Dance. Kris directed the Texas Young Masters Celebration in May of 2022. He is thrilled to join his former instructor and mentor, Rod Caspers, in producing the 2023 Texas Medal of Arts Awards show.
