Native Texan Lyn Koenning is an award-winning music director with over thirty years’ conducting and performing experience at Austin Playhouse, TexARTS, ZACH, Summer Stock Austin, The Paramount Theatre, Mary Moody Northen Theatre, and Zilker Theatre Productions. An accomplished pianist, she has accompanied master classes for Broadway actors and choreographers including Billy Porter, Laura Osnes, Mandy Gonzalez, Ramin Karimloo, Judy Kuhn, Tonya Pinkins, J. Quinton Johnson and Kathleen Marshall and developed new musicals with Tony- and Grammy-winning directors, playwrights, and composers like Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis (Urinetown), Cheri Steinkellner (Sister Act), David Zippel (City of Angels), Matthew Wilder (Disney’s Mulan and Hercules), Berton Averre (co-writer of 1979’s #1 song, “My Sharona”), and Tony-nominated producer Natasha Davison (The Prom).
